The production and sale of infant diaper pads must comply with mandatory national standards, including GB 18401 "National Basic Safety Technical Specifications for Textile Products" and GB 31701 "Safety Technical Specifications for Infant and Child Textile Products".
The safety indicators that need to be tested for products include formaldehyde content, pH value, odor, decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes, phthalates, total lead and total cadmium in heavy metals, tensile strength of accessories, and sharpness of accessory tips and edges.
Color fastness indicators cover resistance to water, perspiration, soap washing, saliva, urine, dry rubbing, and wet rubbing, with specified index values for each grade.
According to the standard for washable knitted fabric diaper pads, products are graded based on absorbency time: superior grade absorbs for ≤60 seconds, first grade for ≤90 seconds, and qualified grade for ≤120 seconds, with no leakage required. After three washes, the absorbency must still be leak-free, and the evaluation index for absorbency after washing must be consistent with that before washing.
Consumers should check whether the product has formal quality and safety certification or test report when purchasing.
