Air-layer composite fabrics primarily consist of materials such as polyester, polyester-spandex, and polyester-cotton-spandex blends. They are a three-layer functional fabric composed of an outer layer, a middle air-filled layer, and a bottom layer.
The specific material distribution is as follows:
Outer layer: Often made of skin-friendly or durable materials such as pure cotton, polyester-cotton blends, or nylon, providing a soft touch or enhancing durability.
Middle layer: Formed by weaving loose yarns or spaced yarns to create a static air-filled layer. It does not fill with actual air but relies on its structure to lock in air for insulation.
Bottom layer: Commonly made of a blend of modal cotton and spandex, giving the fabric good elasticity and a comfortable feel against the skin, while also possessing moisture-wicking properties.
This "sandwich" structure design allows the fabric to combine warmth, wrinkle resistance, breathability, and elasticity, making it widely used in functional clothing.
