Waterproof Fitted Sheets are made from a variety of materials, primarily chosen based on functional requirements such as waterproofness, breathability, comfort, and durability.
When making waterproof fitted sheets, we typically use three main materials: PVC, coated fabric, and PU-coated fabric. PVC is popular due to its abrasion resistance, tear resistance, and good elasticity, effectively preventing water penetration. Coated fabric achieves its waterproof effect by coating a PU film on the surface; this material is also widely used in outdoor products. PU-coated fabric involves applying a layer of polyurethane coating to the fitted sheet fabric, providing both waterproofing and improved abrasion resistance.
Regarding waterproofing processes, we mainly use immersion, spraying, and heat treatment. Immersion involves soaking the fitted sheet in a waterproofing agent; while simple and easy, it may leave an odor. Spraying uses a professional spraying machine; it is more expensive but highly effective. Heat treatment involves heat-bonding the waterproofing material to the fitted sheet fabric to form a strong waterproof layer; it is both economical and effective.
